I've been a little LAZY!!!

 Hey everyone!
Sorry it's been so long. So much is going on in my life right now and it has left me little time for blogging as well as making awesome-rawsome creations. For almost the last month it's been just salads, grains and smoothies over here but over this past weekend, I got a big surprise that has boosted my raw creativity. My wonderful hubby had been sadly standing by watching me drag through each day without the excitement I usually have while preparing food so he went to Macy's huge sale and bought me a new ice cream machine and a new juice machine! VERY EXCITING!! And that has kicked my butt into getting back into raw creative gear!

So what have I made so far? Well for starters, I learned how to crack open a young thai coconut (thanks to Chef Zoe) which led me to making a delicious raw vanilla-coconut ice cream completely dairy free created by Chef Zoe. It was OUT OF THIS WORLD! We ate ours with fresh strawberries and cacao nibs. Check it out... http://youtu.be/hsfFJUqv-9M if you would like to make it, you can get specialty ingredients at her company on line http://rawbundant.com/ or your local healthy store but Zoe has the best prices and wonderful service.

Next, I've been juicing like crazy! This morning it was Carrot-Apple-Pear but I've been cranking out all different varieties in the last 3 days. What I love best about juicing is that if you have some veggies or fruit that are starting to move into the "GETTING OLD" stage, just juice it! What I really need to do now is to learn some recipes for all this fruit and veggie pulp that I just end up composting. Maybe crackers or crust? I know recipes exist out there.

The next thing I did was make my first almond mylk. I've been buying it at the store already made since my journey began and here is why... mylk bags! They are not cheap! They are not really expensive either but with our budget, I choose to pass on getting one for buying food instead. This is what changed my mind. Mimi Kirk! She has a new video on making a cacao shake and she mentions making almond mylk (one of the ingredients) and she adds that she started using a 1 gallon nylon paint strainer bag that she got at a home improvement store for super cheap! So off I go to check it out for myself and with the change in my car ashtray, I got 2 of these bags for $2.99. Since then, I see that tons of people out there are using these bags but Mimi was the first to show me and I think that's AWESOME!!! They work awesome too and now I need to make something yummy with the almond pulp!

Last, I'm finally starting to grow my own sprouts! I've had the seeds and equipment for some time now but have been a little scared to try it myself. I'm already a wheatgrass professional so I have no idea why I was so scared... Anyway, I'm doing it now so on with the sprouting good time. Here is my first attempt caught on film. Alfalfa sprouts... and of course my beloved wheat grass ready for some fresh soil now.

So all these inspirations have been flowing my way and I'm really happy. I was in such a funk and getting bored with 'my raw life' but now it is back on track. Peace and Love to you Thanks for reading!
